About MedikQuantis
During my hospital rotations I kept reaching for clinical scores that were either hard to find, only available in English, or running on outdated interfaces. I built MedikQuantis to fix that — every calculator links its original paper, and everything works in Catalan, Spanish and English.
Who is behind it
A project by Laura Piñero Roig at the University of Barcelona. Open source under the MIT license, maintained as a solo project.
What it is
- –An informational tool for clinicians and medical students.
- –Faithful implementation of the original scores, with the PubMed citation on every page.
- –Catalan and Spanish localisation by native speakers, not machine-translated.
- –Patient mode with plain language and questions to ask the doctor.
What it is NOT
- –NOT a diagnostic tool or a substitute for medical assessment.
- –NOT issuing personalised therapeutic recommendations.
- –NOT yet validated in local populations; the scores are the originals from the authors.
- –NOT collecting user data; everything is computed in your browser.
Research roadmap
A series of external-validation papers is in development, applying each score to Iberian-population cohorts using public datasets (MIMIC-IV, UK Biobank). When published, each calculator will display a local-validation badge linked to the corresponding paper.
